If you looked at the features that come together with Windows 7, you probably noticed the new taskbar, which brings more functionality to that area of the screen. Something that is new is the fact that you no longer see the names, but the icons of the software, making it very similar to how the Quick Launch bar looks like on Windows XP.
If you want the Windows 7 taskbar, but want to stick with Windows XP, you can use the Iconizer to remove the names and leave only the icons, the same as it is in Windows 7. The Windows 7 taskbar has more features than this though, so the only thing you’re getting here is the look.
The Iconizer software is portable, and you will need to restart the computer after the changes are made. If you want to uninstall it, use the same program to bring back the old look.
