Mac users everywhere should know that Skype 2.8 Gold is now available for download on the official website. The exquisite metal in the name brings with it a whole bunch of new features including Skype Access (if you want to use the Skype credit to pay for WiFi hotspot access), improved audio and video quality and screen sharing not to mention a few very elegant design changes to the UI.

If you’ve used the Beta version I guess you already know that screen sharing has been tested for quite some time and it actually works pretty good allowing you to share parts of your screen.

The Windows users should know that the Skype Access is available only to Mac permitting them to skip the signup process for paid WiFi hotspots.
