Samsung is doing its best to conquer the world of digital imaging technology and not the target is set on the differently rich user. Today, the Korean manufacturer unveiled two new entry-level cameras: the PL70 and the PL55. The only things these two babies have in common are the 12.2 megapixel sensor and the 5x optical zoom.

The PL70 (also known as the SL720 in the US) boasts with a 3-inch LCD display, an optical image stabilize, 28mm wide-angle lens and 720p recording ability while the PL55 (a.k.a. SL502) features a 2.7-inch screen, digital image stabilization and 35mm wide-angle lens.

The cameras will be available in stores starting August with the following price tags: $229.99 – the PL70 and $149.99 – the PL55.
