Even if many people describe it as a backup utility Iomega’s v.Clone is much more than that.

To be more precise, the application makes a VMware virtual machine of your system and turns it into a portable version allowing you to take the drive with you anywhere you go. Whenever you need it you can boot v.Clone up and voila… your entire desktop together with all your apps are ready to access.

In order to make this all work you’ll need an Iomega branded drive otherwise you’ll have to use disk2vhd and open the drive next with VirtualBox or Microsoft Virtual PC.
