According to the demos the new NVIDIA ION-based HP Mini 311 is a wonderful device but today time has come for it to face the real benchmarks.

Folks over at Laptop” took it for a drive test and the 311 managed to score a 1,917 on the PCMark 05 test, that 500 point over any average netbook while for the 3DMark06 test the result was 1,386 – equal with MacBookAir and 1,200 over the netbook average.

This doesn’t actually come as a shock because ION is a netbook-oriented version of the GeForce 9400M but when you add 1080p video playback and ION-accelerated Flash into the equation we can say that HP’s Mini 311 is quite a winner.
