Picasa 3.5 is the newest member of the Google family.
The application is both PC and Mac friendly and its most important feature is that it brings forward the services offered by Picasa Web Albums. Unfortunately for the time being the Linux version stands still at 3.0 but its update is also under construction.
What’s new in Picasa 3.5?
It has a face recognition feature allowing you to assign name tags to your friends. It analyzes the photos grouping them using the similar faces criteria. If you have a Google account the program will auto-complete the names using the contacts database.
Also, Picasa offers a very useful Geotagging photos feature allowing you to view your photos on a map, improved sharing, import and upload functionality, improved responsiveness in the Sharpen tool, enhanced picture tagging and so much more.
Give it a try!
