All you Ubuntu fans dreaming about a smooth operating system… CrunchBang is in the house.

The CrunchBang 9.04.1 used the Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope as starting point and it will be available for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

This lightweight OS is characterized best by faster bootup times, improved support for wireless cards, Ext4 filesystem support, new themes, Intel Atom netbooks support and last but not least new panel/taskbar application.

CrunchBang will also be available in a Lite Edition that will offer fewer pre-installed applications and will eat less hard drive space.
