The almighty Google finally decided to join the operating system battle by announcing for 2010 the Chrome OS.

This new operating system will be "open source" which will enable external users to modify the program.

According to the official statement the main features of Chrome OS will be: speed, simplicity and security because its main purpose will be to provide Internet access in only a few seconds. Google Chrome Operating System will be small compared to its adversary and will be launched at the end of next year.

Google Chrome OS aims the people who very often use the Internet for information, mail, news, shopping or just to be permanently in touch with their friends, colleagues and family.

This new OS will be very different from Google Android because this latter has been designed to be used on a wide variety of devices from mobile phones to netbook sites.
